OnCue - "It Usually Goes" (Official Video)
Great surprise seeing this pop up earlier today - fresh visuals for the CJ Luzi-produced and recently-released "It Usually Goes" from the fella OnCue. These vids have been getting better and better for Mr. Cuey.
G-Eazy – The Outsider (Mixtape)
Here’s the new mixtape from G-Eazy featuring some nice indie samples. Some people seem to be getting sick of this indie-sampling hip-hop trend/movement/whatever it is that’s going on. Personally, I welcome it. As far as music genres go, hip-hop is still in the relatively early stages of evolution, and I think bringing in new influences can only strengthen the music as a whole.
Groups like Rich Kid Sound System and The Wild take it a step further and incorporate an original indie rock/pop sound into their music, and this kind of experimentation is just going to make hip-hop even more diverse in terms of sound. I know you 90′s hip-hop heads love the dusty boom bap beats and jazz/funk samples, but we don’t want things getting stagnant, right? Right. As more hip-hop artists hop on board the indie train, it might get played out, but let’s see where it leads. What do you think? Be sure to check out the new Intuition tape for more indie-meets-hip-hop excellence.
Stream/download the whole thing via Soundcloud below.

Raashan Ahmad - Pain on black (Official Video-Clip)
Raashan Ahmad dropped his album last year entitled For What You’ve Lost which is a jazzy hip-hop album that might of been overlooked by a lot of people. It’s really a shame though because this dude is flowing and droppin’ knowledge like it aint nothing. It’s almost too easy for him and it comes out so smooth. Now, he’s dropped a video for the second single from the album called “Pain On Black”. You can check the video and track below.

Mac Miller - Child Celebrity
Yes, some more Mac Miller! Obviously didn't make the cut for Best Day Ever, but if it were my decision then this should have definitely been on the mixtape.

Here's the latest video from Zion I & The Grouch for the track "Victorious People," which is off their latest album Heroes In The Healing Of The Nation.
Recess x DNA
This is truly what hip-hop is to supposed to be, at least in my eyes and this blows the Blackroc project out of the water. "DNA" is off Recess, which is a collobartion of Sene X theClubhouse and I highly recommend everyone to download this great project .

Time Alone - Josh Martinez
Josh Martinez has been serving up the scorching hot heat since his early days as an arsonist. Having given up crime, Josh turned to organized religion, and set out to convert the unwashed masses. Having found that the masses were in fact already washed, Josh turned to rap music as an excuse to kiss girls and get free beer. It seems to have worked, as the name Josh Martinez is now synonymous with both loose women and cheap beer.
Josh Martinez has burst onto the scene with humor, wit and an infectious delivery that has his songs stuck in your head for weeks. Martinez’ first release, the DJ Moves produced Maximum Wellbeing EP, blew the collective conscious with the epic track “Deny”. A five beat, ten minute opus about a soldier forced to revisit the Holocaust, “Deny” won 1998’s Independent Song of the Year from CBC’s Brave NewWaves.
His next release, Josh Martinez & the Hooded Fang, was awarded 5 mics by Source Online and showcased production and rhyme help from Halifax’s finest. This self-released gem moved Vice Magazine to comment, “Josh takes on more subject matter in one song than most rappers do in their entire careers.” As interest in his recordings grew, Josh decided to start his own record label, Low Pressure Records, a Vancouver based label co-owned by DJ Moves and Rhekone.

Apollo Brown - Heirlooms Feat. Has-Lo
Detroit producer Apollo Brown just released his album, Clouds, which features some of the dopest hip-hop instrumentals around. You have these amazing beats that are just ready to have some lines dropped over them. So, Mello Music Group enlists the talents of Has-Lo to spit some rhymes over the “Heirlooms” beat which is the song I’m bringing to you today. It’s a classic jazzy hip-hop beat with street poetry sprinkled on top, to create a chilled out feast for the ears. Check out the track and chill…..
Linda Jones - Hypnotized
You can’t help but get a tingling in your spine when you hear a song with an overflowing amount of soul. And, that’s exactly what LonTheBeat aka Landon Wix has done on his whole EP. Like many before him, he has taken classic soul songs and given them the proper hip-hop treatment but there’s definitely something unique about this guy. He hails from Nashville and he just recently released his EP entitled Evolve. It contains some older unreleased instrumentals of his. You definitely have to check out this EP after you hear the sample track called “Hypnotizzzed”. Check it out.

Conner Youngblood – “Summer Song”
Got a new track from the up-and-coming artist Conner Youngblood. This time he brings the track “A Summer Song” which is a bit more upbeat than his previous releases. This time he’s made a happy track that has his signature banjo usage as well as some glitched out elements as well. He always keeps you guessing as to what’s coming up next in the song because he doesn’t follow any type of formula. If you were’t a fan of Connor before; you will soon be. Check out the new track below.

Omar Linx
Emerging artist Omar LinX has been perfecting his craft since the age of 15, but only recently felt it was time to drop his first mixtape “A Cold Welcome,” and has hit the ground running. In only a short period of time LinX has proven that he is at the forefront of Toronto hip hop. In the past year he has collaborated with local Toronto talent, as well as established heavy hitters, like Royce Da 5’9” and Joell Ortiz. His rugged voice and sharp tongued lyrics, laced with wit, biting humor and clever wordplay, are complemented by smooth, melodic hooks. Candid and passionate descriptions of his life are seamlessly paralleled by imaginative concepts, make him a compelling artist to listen to and give his music a distinctly unique quality. Not one to box himself in, Omar has made it a point to experiment with different genres. His latest collaborations with fellow Toronto artists Zeds Dead, notably “Wake up” and “Out for Blood,” have captivated the attention of many and received a great deal of support from hip hop and dubstep/DnB lovers alike. Their most recent creation, Out for Blood, has excited listeners, getting him heavy rotation and international praise. His fan base continues to grow as his music reaches an increasingly wider audience. His next project, “City of Ommz”, will be released early 2011, and based on what he’s demonstrated so far, it will undoubtedly push the envelope of convention and whisk listeners right into the middle of the elusive world in which he seems to thrive.

Thallus
Thallus, the german-born beat-maker, has released his experimental instrumental album entitled Belong. It has a similar feel that you’d find on a Flying Lotus album but exploring less dark territory. It’s also not as glitchy and ultimately separates itself from the aforementioned artist by touching on some unfamiliar musical emotions. You can, of course, download the album for free. Check out a few sample tracks below and download the album.

Zeds Dead & Omar LinX
Their name is derived from a line in Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, said by Bruce Willis. “Zeds dead baby” .The audio sample is featured in the beginning of several of their productions, including Journey Of A Lifetime.
DC and Hooks are Zeds Dead. They first hooked up in 2004 and formed Mass Productions, catering to the digging in the crates sampling school of hip-hop. In the summer of 2009, the two launched their second collaboration - Zeds Dead - turning up the bpm and aiming the bass-lines at the dance-floor. Zeds Dead has since built a reputation as producers par excellence with only a handful of releases under their belt. By pulling from a vast array of source material (Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, Sublime), and molding it into their unique brand of dance-floor classics, They have established themselves as a dominant force in the EDM world and have received recognition and praise from tastemakers all over the globe. With a slew of originals and remixes set to be released in 2011, Hooks and DC show no signs of slowing down. Catch them live and you’ll know: Zeds Dead is here to stay.
Sweatshop Union -- Nuclear Family
’’‘Sweatshop Union’‘’ are a Canadian Hip hop collective formed in 2000 when four politically-minded rap acts Dirty Circus, Creative Minds , Innocent Bystanders, and solo artist Kyprios came together “to create a powerful, distinctive voice”, and to produce their first album, which was published in 2001.
Known for an inventive and socially-conscious sound, Sweatshop Union’s music focuses on being “honest”, commenting on material ranging from the War in Iraq, the plight of the poor and working-class, to the negativity and misogyny of mainstream hip-hop. Speaking for the group, Mos Eisley put it as:
‘To me, politics aren’t a choice you make; they’re just a way of life. […] In that sense, I am trying to be more positive than political, because I’m already political to begin with…
I think that, at the same time as there’s a lot of money being put into hip hop that could be deemed negative or misogynistic or self-destructive, by the same token there’s a lot of guys who are coming up trying to be positive and rebel against that, putting their careers on the line.’
After signing with Battleaxe Records in 2002, their self-titled debut album was re-released as ‘Local 604. The group also began touring North America with a number of other rap and hip-hop artists, including their label-mates Swollen Members.
Their 2004 album ‘Natural Progression’ led to a Juno Awards nomination and three Western Canadian Music Award nominations. They have been called part of “Vancouver’s hip-hop Renaissance”, and had their music featured in CBC Radio’s “Make Some Noise” documentary. Their most recent album, ‘United We Fall’ (released in 2005) is the group’s favorite, reflecting the increasing maturity of their collaboration.

Zion I & The Grouch - Rockit Man feat. Silk E (New Album In Stores 3.22.11)
Here's the first tracked dropped from Zion I & The Grouch's Heroes In The Healing Of The Nation. Here's "Rockit Man," which is a song about ascension and becoming a higher version of one's self. Amp laced us with a glitchy, futuristic soul landscape, and Silk E murks the hook. All in all, it's an emotional introduction to the new LP.
De La Soul/Itzsoweezee / Starfucker/Teen Challenge
Here's a mash-up from Starf*cker, and its featuring De La Soul's "Itzsoweezee" over Starf*cker's "Teen Challenge." Download this track in the SoundCloud, but noticed the file is a WAV and is 46 MB. Hopefully they fix this track and I will have a download link for it.
